Junior Leader Training
It's been great to see the Junior Leader Training system get lots of use in the last year or so. Here are some tips and reminders, based on the emails and support tickets I get:
|
- All Junior Leader training information can be found here: https://safeministry.training/junior-leaders-course/
- Once your church is set up in the Junior Leader system (triggered by the submission of the form on the JL page), you don't need to submit further forms - unless to want to set up additional Training Groups. Each Training Group your church has is permanent and your church can just cycle through Junior Leaders in the system as much as you want.
- All enrolments for your JL's is managed by your church Training Mentor. Unenrolments of JL's happens automatically when their six month enrolment period expires.
- If your church has 17 year olds coming into leadership roles, they can do either the JL course or the Essentials course (recommended). If the latter, parental permission and the Senior Ministers agreement is required, and those all are handled at the local church level (ie: we don't need to know about them). Even mature 16 year olds may be able to handle Essentials with the same caveats as for 17 year olds.
- When a JL turns 18, if they are continuing in leadership, they must complete Essentials by the time they turn 18 - even if they have only completed the JL course relatively recently (hence the comments above for 17 year olds).
- A JL can apply for a WWCC when they turn 17 year and 9 months.

SMR Facebook Group
A reminder that we have a private Facebook group just for SMR's
|
- A safe and private place for SMR's to ask questions, support each other, share ideas or solutions to problems, etc
- The address is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/173114257798286
- Involvement in this group is entirely optional - but it is proving to be a useful extra channel for SMR's to chat amongst themselves and pose questions to me.
